Be real with yourself
Leme share a story with you all. I remember receiving Christ Jesus being ‘born again’ in 1998. I was a new man bc ALL of hurt as a child and young adulthood was healed. I was given the power to finally forgive much of the things I heard, saw, felt. I found myself and knew I had purpose and a calling on my life which I knew since 6 but I did not what to call it. I enjoyed church. I was in church errday. I witnessed marvelous things. I know without doubt God is real. I witnessed people healed. Gang banger put down guns in church. Drug dealers lay their drugs at the altar. Prostitutes give up tricking and much more. I can recall persons finely dressed up. I enjoy dressing but I soon realized in church dressing was camouflage and smoke screen. Persons believe bc you dressed up means you saved, blessed and ‘favored of God.’ I guess they had not read ‘Life is greater than raiment’ or ‘better for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle [a city called Ai where merchants de-cargo camels to pass through the city gate] than a Rich man to get into heaven.’ Hmm, thats a thought. Nothing wrong with dressing but there is a problem when your hurting and need a break through and the place where God created for the halted, maimed, bruised and wounded is a financial institution and a membership club. But sadly we have been to taught to dressed or camouflage whats really going on. We know all the church anthems, ritualism, protocals, orders blah blah blah; yet we are broken in the inside. I guess the preacher did see ‘first clean that within and it will clean that without’ Or when Christ called out the Scribes and the Pharisees for looking good, smelling good and great regal but called them ‘pristine sepulcher [tomb]‘ and ‘full of extortion.’ Better yet, you got great swelling words in church; you got worship down – hands up and hand down -tell the Lord thank you -give Him praise! lol Yet, you tweeting, Facebooking, Instagramming, Pinteresting in church when we should be focused on the Creator and Oh Yeah! You Liking cute chicks and dudes during service. Gotta share this; you got errbody fooled like you super sweet and Very saved yet you sexting pics through Mobi and Facebook. Im guilty too – POWW! But I get it; bc we have been taught to deny ourselves and act like some kind of way. Like the song – Some Kind A Way lol We have been taught not to be real with ourselves and put on a show! ‘Beloved, the church, iglesia, is the place where we should be able to be transparent and open at least thats what I read ‘Come boldly before the Throne grace where you can find help in time of need.’. Rolling with my pastor Dwight Shields today I heard a song and I recalled these lyrics – Back In The Day Praise! This through me back to reminiscence about Church when I first received the Baptismal of Christ. Church was raw and pure. There was no pretence just persons seeking to know God. Beloved and Elect of God; here’s what I have learned being in ministry for 15 years. Be true to thy own self; The more you draw nigh to God to more God will draw nigh to you; If you desire to know the doctrine [the mindset of God] God will reveal it you. The power of God is not the physical building; its the power of the Gospel found in Christ Jesus. There is no place too low or too high for God. Even before you ask God already knows what you have need of so what are you scared of; Lastly, all have sinned and have come short of the Glory of God but freely justified through grace by Christ Jesus who has given his life as propitiation. Oh lord, what does that mean; simply, God has given us an open in Christ to get things together for ourselves; If we want to be new we can be renewed. If we want to change we can be changed. Beloved of God; do not we settle for less! Lego…..
Please forgive brevity, grammar lol
